ok so, i've just rewatched jumanji, all three movies, and i think i'd like to see saltburn with 'welcome to the jungle' (movie, 2017, with jack black and the rest) because it'd be easier to integrate the casts and everything, and because i think there should be more of van pelt in the story, don't you think?

like, felix as spencer, venetia as bethany, farleigh as fridge, maaayyybe annabel as martha (or not, idk yet) and oliver, oh dear oliver would be alex, because it'll be fun, having oliver as the one being stuck in the game for twenty-two years. sure, it works for felix too, but i have something in mind with this arrangement.

the kids got into the game, they got trampled over by rhinos and hippos and whatnot, yadda yadda yadda. then, they met oliver, the pilot (master of the air, hahaha), romance happens, but also misery, because we always need drama and misery for them, don't we?

at the final sequence, we find out that it was all a trap, all along. oliver had been waiting for people to go along the journey, so he can finish the game as well, yes. but it changed the moment he met felix, and was told that he had been stuck in the game for twenty-two years (he came from 2002, felix and the rest from 2024), and realized that even if he got out of this cursed place, there is a risk that he won't be able to see felix. so... why not just stay? he can't say that to the others, though, they'd refuse immediately, even felix. oliver has to make him stay one way or another, make felix see that they should stick together, side by side, with no one else and no way home to ensure that felix would be there with him.

oliver has been working with van pelt, has been reporting the situations to the man as he embarked on the journey with the jumanji team, with felix. we of course got a scene where he was accidentally bit by a mosquito, his weakness in the game, and felix saved him by giving him his life (he didn't lose any heart s the way spencer did because fridge shoved him off the cliff, farleigh can be ruthless but not that heartless). we got a kiss, and oliver cementing his decision to chase after felix because felix had just literally saved his life.

at the end, after the revelation and oliver's realization as well as making the plan for felix to stay, the team went towards the jaguar statue, except this time, instead of going together, they got separated one by one as per oliver's instruction to split up, because of the jaguars running after them and van pelt's men as well. it was a ruse for oliver to orchestrate their death, because they were liabilities and were prone in reminding felix that they have to go home. this way, there will be no reminder, no loved ones, and it will give an illusion of despair in felix's head because he lost his cousin and sister.

at that moment, when felix has reached the top of the statue, ready to receive the jewel for the eye from oliver, the last act of treachery will happen. oliver didn't get him the jewel, instead, he acted like he had been captured by van pelt and the only way to save him was for the jewel to be traded with his life. it's a precarious situation, because at this point, felix has lost one life to save oliver, one from being torn apart by the jaguars because he slipped from the trees, and only one left to risk. and it is risky, because there's no resurrection after this, no more second chance. it's either the jewel or oliver, who also only has one life left.

at the end, looking at oliver's terrified face, the tears streaking down his cheeks, felix gave up the jewel and let van pelt have it. he gets oliver back, crying and apologizing profusely to felix, because he says "it's my fault-- it's my fault felix, i'm so sorry. i shouldn't have told them to split up; should have been more careful with van pelt. now they're dead and we're stuck. we can't go home. i'm so sorry."

felix wants to be angry, of course he does. he lost people close to him and the only chance for him to get out of this god-forsaken universe, to go home. but he can't blame oliver for it (poor, gullible child) and at least... at least this way, he won't be alone, the way oliver had for twenty-two years. at least they have each other, and that should be enough.

even though he has to sacrifice his life; even though he has to let go of the world as he had known it. it's okay, because he'll be with oliver, and they will be all right, even though they'd never, ever make it home.

end. (happily ever after, at least for oliver, because come on, he's been gone for twenty-two years, the least jumanji can do to atone is giving him felix. for now; for eternity.)

And uh… one more thing about these sentences… they are all new… like I just wrote them today 😂😂 SO! I give you some NEW sentences from several separate fics! And although this is typed all I hear is Sir Pentious (hello new Hazbin Hotel fixation) 😂

1. (David’s Purpose- New David fic based on that movie where King Arthur resurrects into a dog’s body 😀) It really only seemed as if he’d blinked; one second he was looking at the saddened faces of his family gathered around his withering body, and the next his eyes crack open — but only slightly — to a darkened room, and the soft sounds of puppies whimpering.

2. (Untitled — Alex has Premonitions — Fic) He saw Henry — dressed far too formally for the party in a suit with a deep orange tie — he heard his deep infectious laugh; saw his big bright smile; heard his soft voice call him ‘as thick as it gets’; felt hands grasp his face, lips press against his own… then realized he was still sitting in his room waiting for Nora to finish getting ready.

3. (Kiss the Angel- The Little Mermaid themed Destiel fic) “I’m sorry,” the Empty repeated, clearer this time. “It’s just- I don’t know what’s funnier… the idea of you actually thinking you’re right; or the completely impractical idea of ‘what if’ you were right, and Castiel forced happiness on himself when he could have had the real thing.”

4. (Happy Birthday To Me! 5+1 times of Henry celebrating his birthday fic) Henry holds back tears as he looks down at the lopsided cake; Happy Birthday Daddy written out over the top in green icing.

5. (Rewrite the Stars- Henry Amnesia fic) “I don’t bloody care who you are, I want to see my husband!” Alex’s head snaps towards Henry’s room; that was Henry’s voice he realizes, and is up and rushing towards the commotion without a second thought.

6. (Desperado- post canon Desitel fix it fic) The motel is cheap and shabby; so reminiscent of the old days that it actually gives him an odd sense of belonging to be there. He sighs as he lays himself out on the lumpy mattress, half hoping he doesn’t wake to bed bug bites, half hoping he does… if only just to feel something again.

Howdy to Simon’s Hank. Mother’s Day is coming up (no pressure!), and I’m so bad at shopping for gifts for my family. I thought I could take inspiration from what Charles gave to each of his original x men, his children, upon the realization of his dream through Krakoa, but I need an objective opinion, I think. Let me know your thoughts.

He gave Jean a seat on the Quiet Council, and made Scott War Captain; and of course they led the X-Men together. Bobby got to terraform a planet, and he was so excited it’s still 30% of what he talks about years later. Warren. Alex got state mandated parole and the fight of his life trying to get clones recognized as human beings who live and die and should, consequently, be resurrected. Lorna got to be an only child whether she wants it or not, in addition to the increasingly clear knowledge that on Krakoa, you can be anything… except a mentally ill woman, of course. And you got to lead a black ops organization drawing inspired from the CIA, which seemed like a weird choice to me. I probably would have given you a novelty sweater, or something like that.

"I think, on balance, I, too, would have preferred the novelty sweater."

". . . Also, I'm not Simon's Hank, I'm my very own Henry Philip McCoy, thank you very much! I don't belong to Simon any more than I belong to anyone else."

A CONVERSATION WITH DOCTOR MAIMONIDES

The golden retriever was talking to me. His mouth was moving in such a strange way. It was far more smooth and natural than it had any right to me. A dog, who claimed to be my doctor, was talking to me!

I did the only thing I could think to do.

"Um, it's a pleasure to meet you," I said.

The dog, Doctor Maimonides, gave me that sweet dog smile and said. "I'm sure you have a lot of questions. This process is always different for every person. As it should be!"

I could help what I said next. I said, "Doctor... you're a dog!"

Doctor Maimonides barked a bark that could almost have been a laugh. He replied, "That I am. Surely though, are you so shocked that in the future, the beings of Earth have come a long way? It didn't hurt that your species, once it rejected war against one another, began a campaign to uplift other beings."

I said, "Is that why you can talk?"

He replied, "Not exactly. Being uplifted allows my species to think and process information at a human level. Buy I volunteered to have a very complex surgery done to allow me to speak like this to humans. I've always been fascinated by you rational bipeds, and I knew I wanted to be a human doctor since I was just a little pup!"

This was way too much for me. I decided not to ask my Doctor any more questions on this line of thought. Instead, I remembered to question burning within me.

I said, "Sarah! Is my Sarah here? My dear wife died from a horrible aneurism a year before me. Is she alive?"

The doctor tapped my leg with his paw in a comforting gesture. He said, "Yes, Sarah is alive again. You two will be reunited. But we need to talk a bit more first. I have to make sure you're psychologically stable. Additionally, I think you have some more burning questions."

Part of me was quite convinced the only thing I wanted to know was Sarah's location. Still, I had apparently been resurrected from the dead, and now I was chatting with a doctor who happened to be a golden retriever. How could I not have questions?

I looked again at the strange wall decorated with geometric symbols. I breathed in the floral fragrance. I could still hear the naturalistic humming of the bizarre living computer.

"Ok...Nurse Harper told me you could explain the science of resurrection to me better than he could."

The doctor sat thoughtfully for a moment before saying, "Nurse Harper may overestimate my abilities, but I'll try my best. First of all, forgive me, but I don't know history well, but have the people of your era come to understand that the workings of the brain create your individual consciousness and personality?"

I shrug and say, "That's what some folks believe."

The retriever nodded and said, "Good. So, I don't have to explain all that. Well, these semi-devine beings you call "computers" are able to calculate the exact position of every sub-atomic particle in all of history within this solar system. There's also a Dyson Sphere involved. Anyway, we simply mapped out your brain at the exact moment of your death and boom! Resurrection!"

I thought for a moment before asking, "But...it it really me? Or...am I just a copy?"

The doctor said, "If you sleep deeply without consciousness, are you a new person when you awake? If a person awakes from a coma, are they not the same person who went in? My dear Alex, you are your memories, personality, hopes, dreams, and loves. The specific matter making you up isn't who you really are. What emerged beyond the substrate of matter is you. Do you understand?"

I didn't, and he could tell.

The Doctor said, "Well, its no matter. Anyway, let's begin your tests..."

A few hours later, I was dressed in ordinary American clothes. Doctor Maimonides, who I resisted petting with all my might, brought me to the hospital cafe.

When I saw who was waiting for me, my heart stopped. Time slowed down to nothing. Suddenly, there was only one other person in the whole universe. There, sitting at a table, was my Sarah.

She could see me too. Dear reader, the way we jumped into each other's arms was like nothing any romance novel could ever describe. I will only say that joy and tears ruled that moment as I embraced my wife in this world of resurrection.

Firstly, the premise: Alex and Henry become accidental travelling companions in Europe for a month, after Alex's flight is delayed and his original plans with June and Nora fall through, and Pez (mysteriously) abandons Henry in Rome.

Secondly, my defence as to why it is not finished: I started this in December 2021. It's 30k. It's probably going to be 160. It's just a lot. I simply cannot fathom how insane this WIP is and why I decided to write it, but I also LOVE it. I updated it in Barcelona, randomly. It's never far from my mind it's just so daunting.

Snippet for you (hungover Alex in a 14 bed dorm in Florence aka. Henry's worst nightmare):

“I think I might be dead,” Alex moans, squeezing his eyes shut and rolling his head into Henry’s pillow.

Henry rocks back on his heels slightly and peers down into the bunk bed. He’s made an admirable effort at gently rousing Alex, but it appears that stronger methods may be required. “I can assure you that you are not,” Henry replies. “It appears that you are still able to speak, for example.”

Alex moans softly again and squints back at Henry through his eye that is not squished into the pillowcase. “You’re looking offensively fresh this morning.”

“Is that supposed to be an insult?” Henry asks in a polite tone. He’s fairly sure Alex would be violently ill if he recounted how many things he’d managed to do before trying to wake the apparent-dead. For starters, he’d had a mild panic over the state of the bathroom, walked halfway to the Mercato to buy flip-flops, walked back via a bakery for something to eat and then had a very long shower until his hands went pruney. 

“Yes,” Alex retorts, clapping a hand over his eyes. “I hate your aura of cleanliness. Also, why am I in your bed?”

Henry swallows and silently praises his past-self for making good decisions. “I believe it’s because you couldn’t climb the ladder into your own.”

“Of course I couldn’t,” Alex grumbles to himself. Henry thinks he hears him say 'fucking tequila' under his breath. “Wait. Where did you sleep?”

“In your bed,” Henry says, perhaps too quickly. “It’s fortunate you made it for me,” he adds in a sardonic tone.

“Ugh,” Alex groans. “My mouth tastes like glue.”

“Charming,” Henry muses, and wonders whether it’s possible to make Alex’s resurrection happen any faster.

(even if you don't know what that is i need to speak my truth so) plot wise mick is travelling with his dad to visit somewhere idk and they end up in the spirit realm and michael gets cursed to enter enchanted sleep so mick goes to the bathhouse that’s in the distance where he meets this scruffy older guy with eyes like running water who tells him to “go, run, leave before dark” but we all know that doesn't happen 🙄 and instead gets stuck in the spirit realm. the unkept hot guy mick keeps on thinking feels familiar tells him to survive and get his dad back he must go to upper management and beg for a job so he does and SURPRISE the bathhouse is a metaphor for ferrari and they take away mick’s last name like in the movie and make him forget about his past life. it turns out that weirdo blue-eyed man is the right hand to the bathhouse owner (who? WILL come up later) and he’s super powerful and can turn into a dragon and his name is ✨seb✨ but mick is like… don’t i know you from my repressed childhood..? no? anyway i don’t think that’s your name but i will not examine that. after that estiebestie the nice demon is tasked to train him in how to do bathhouse stuff (he’s the cool mentor woman in the film i don’t remember her name) and he’s the only one who’s nice to mick. mick suffers for a bit, because he’s a nepo baby who’s never done manual labor at heart. then alex the mud spirit comes through (rbr to williams resurrection metaphor) and so does no-face (fernando alonso because that image is really funny to me, not for thematic reasons). seb (haku) hates him. it’s great.

(2/2) anyway whatever whatever climax of the story seb goes to steal the “golden seal” (wdc) and gets super poisoned (again, metaphor) so mick goes down to the boiler room again to meet with seb’s oldest and only friend, a spirit who used to be super powerful but was cast aside to the basement after becoming disillusioned by the bathhouse (guess who? it’s kimi lol. he could pull off the boiler guy). grumpy boiler guy tells him to travel to the empire across the sea and gives him the train tickets. also charles is there because charles is the giant baby (ferrari chosen one iykyk) but he’s better and cooler than the baby in the film. they travel all the way to the cottage of TOTO WOLFF who is the nice witch and he tells them about his old friend/rival (lover? 😳) MAURIZIO ARRIVABENE and his cursed ferrari bathhouse who has seb in a chokehold. anyway mick gets emotionally adopted and seb is cured and shows up and the door and turns into a dragon to fly them back (it’s glorious). (a.n: george is the hopping lamppost this is so important to me). on the way mick has a revelation. am i… into men? lmao jokes. his realization is that seb was the river spirit his dad used to take him too when he was a kid in the german countryside and the spirit’s name is ✨sebastian vettel✨. it’s moving and beautiful and whatever. they get back and return charles the mouse to ferrari so they can release sebby’s contract (aston martin era), mick goes back to real life and travells back to his hometown to see the river and SURPRISE there’s a scruffy older guy with eyes like running water (😉) waiting on the shore. the end. thanks for listening <3

do you have any book recommendations

ok ok so if your just wanting something without an actual story,

I really liked the FBI Handbook of Crime Scene Forensics (The Authoritative Guide to Navigating Crime Scenes), and Making stuff and Doing Things (DIY Guides to Just About Everything).

as for things with story lines. I really like The Mortal Instruments series (but not much else by Cassandra Clare, and I haven't read anything by her in a while). The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin made me cry when I first read it a handful of years ago and i'm sure it would make me tear up again if i reread it today!

I'm currently reading a book called Her Purpose by Shelley D. Hiers and it is pretty cute, it's about a girl leaving her village to find her purpose in life and her "true name". And also The 100 by Kass Morgan, which it's good, but i think i would not like it as much if i hadn't watched almost all of the show before starting to read it, but! if you like dystopia and multiple povs in the same book (chpt by chpt) then it's pretty good!

Two books that i have on my tbr that im amped to read are Curious Tides by Pascale Lacelle, it's supposed to be about a girl in a magic college who finds out that she has special magic powers that have to be kept secret and mysterious resurrections. And the Shady Hollow by Juneau Black which is a cozy murder mystery with i believe anthropomorphic woodland creatures, so far it looks super cute and i cant wait to read both of these!

Two short books i enjoyed and rec are The Bog Hag by JacquelyNn Lyon which is "a fairy tale about foolish nobility and angry magical women who would rather be left alone - until they dont anymore" (which i think is a very good way to sum it up). and GRRRL a Diary of Poetry by Alex Mack which is a fair bit of poetry that i really enjoyed!

anyways yea, those are some of my favs and top recs in my mind, tbf i haven't done much book reading these past couple of years, most of my stuff has been online, but hopefully going into this new year i will be getting a lot more (and recent) recs!

Okokokokok so I got two of em. Aireth and Addadon (or Seraph depending on the time frame)

Alright so before I address my lil shits I should mention that in my fic most mythic beings are real; angels, fae, demons, sirens, any and all extensions of these beings are also real. (Can’t say more than that without going into detail for events that happen in the fic and then we’d be there all day)

So without further ado

Aireth

Aireth is a being known as Fae-born. She was born a human, taken in by the fae and born again into one of them (aka made basically immortal). A coming of age ceremony for the fae is they send out the new adults into the human world to get some “experience with humans” Aireth had always been looking forward to this, always curious about human kind and why they were the way they were.

When she was finally able to set of on her own in the human world she wandered for a long time, until she came across a boy who was hiding in the bushes. She helped him, got him some bread, and cleaned him up before leaving him with some parting words.

“You will do great things”

She continues her wandering and begins to see what her elders and the rulers meant about humanity. Aireth, because she was fae-born could tap into dark magics and not suffer the same consequences as typical fae and over the next 15 year she gained a name

The crimson witch of the moon

The black magic had changed her. Corrupted her flesh and burrowed itself into her bones.

It was at this time that she heard of a king. He had started many a war and was proving to be a bloody warrior. Wanting to see what it was about she ventured to find him. Only to see that it was the boy she helped so long ago, but now he had a name; Vladimir Tempest.

Aireth would then go on to work with him, making a blood oath and eventually, when he was killed, she resurrected him. but something went wrong, and he bacame this half dead thing... the first Vampire.

they then separated. Aireth knew no good would come from staying with him, at his side so she went far, to Scottland, where she meat a blond haired boy. slowly this boy grew into a man, and he helped her undo what the dark magic had done to her.

as a man Aireth saw new beauty in him, and she fell in love.

this man was named Alexander Anderson.

they got married, and it wouldn't be till the end of world war 2 that Aireth became pregnant. though at this point Alex had been a regenerator for the church for almost 80 years, and he was off fighting in the war (though he came home so the kid is his) but he left again before Aireth could tell him.

now being Fae-born came to kick Aireth in the ass. to ensure that Fae-born don't run off with the fae's secrets they are cursed to only be able to give birth in the fae wilds, as it is a part of human nature to reproduce.

Aireth waited till she couldn't wait anymore and had to go to the fae wilds where three days after the birth of her daughter she got dragged into the war.

and then Alucard found her again... and she couldn't return to Alexander... and her daughter was ripped from her...

Abbadon (Seraph)

abbadon is Aireth and Alexanders Daughter, when she was but three days old the fae wilds in which she was being safe guarded were burned to the ground by the Major who was looking for her mother but settled on her instead.

taking her away, the Major and Dok raised her, but not as a human being- no, as an experiment.

she was the dok's prized possession even if her alterations caused her to rot from the inside out, he would just up her regeneration. though he had a plan to stop the rot before it started and that involved dumping the 10 year old into a vat of sulphic acid and many other chemicals....

Seraph wouldn't escape this cage until she was 16.

when she did she was found by the captian, and project Niphilm was concived (but thats spoliers so i can't really talk about it yet!). over te years she would grow (and because again. spoliers) and the captian and her would fall in love (super slow burn my guy, wolfman is dense and emotinally constipated)

Weekly comic review ?

Nightwing #100 - A great artist showcase that Taylor manages to stay mostly out of the way of. No real narrative developments worth mentioning, the Titans shilling and obvious setup for a new Taylor written Titans ongoing just makes me roll my eyes but hey - whatever pries Taylor off of Jon I'm all in favor of.

World's Finest #11 - Solid ending to an arc that surprised me. Got thoughts to share on Magog now that it's over that I'll write up in a different post, but I will say I didn't expect him and Clark to part on such amicable terms. Of course Waid canonized the depower chamber from Superman II, should have seen that coming. Ending is definitely setting up some kind of follow up, be that in a future arc or in a spinoff mini like how Lazarus Planet is resolving the Nezha plotline.

Stargirl #3 - Continues to be great, guessing the Foster Father is Per Degaton. Eventually I'm sure Courtney will join the JSA book, only question is how many of these legacies will too.

One Bad Day: Bane - After Dark Crisis shit the bed Williamson needed this book to come out to remind me why I was on board for his Superman. It's solid and I love the twist that the "one bad day" for Bane actually ends up being the day he broke Batman. He peaked then and there, and never achieved anything as noteworthy ever again, something Bane himself recognizes and regrets. By the end he's become a quasi-Batman figure himself, taking in and mentoring a young man in an attempt to find a new purpose in life. Very much feels like an abbreviated DKR for Bane which is fitting given his status as the Evil Batman.

Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton -

Dreamer: Fine. Mostly just served as the story to explain what the hell is going on if you didn't bother to read Batman vs. Robin or the Alpha issue.

Jon - Wow actual chemistry between Jon and someone else! Almost forgot what that felt like after a year of utter blandness between Jon and Jay. God just break those two up already and put Jon with Ash, it would at least be amusing to see Jon dating someone who pushes back at his preaching.

Mercy - Good, I liked the flashes we get of her relationship with Lex and I approve of her becoming more like her animated Young Justice counterpart. Not quite a cyborg, more like Alex Mercer in terms of powerset.

Power Girl - Beautiful art, and Leah seems to have a good handle on Karen's voice. If she's getting telepathy I think she needs to give up one of the powers she already has in exchange. Looking forward to the backup.

The New Champion of Shazam #4 - Ending was a bit rushed but on the whole this was an enjoyable mini that left me feeling very optimistic about MAWS. I'm not thrilled that they seem to just want to have Mary go by "Shazam" too, come on surely we can come up with a better code name for her than just having her use Billy's. Especially since not only is he coming back, but his book is going by Shazam! Have Mary go by "Captain Shazam" if DC/Campbell is that opposed to a gendered name for her, it pays homage to Billy's original name and let's her be "Shazam" without literally having the same name as him.

Immortal X-Men #10 - Holy fuck I haven't been this eager for the follow-up since HoX/PoX. Gillen nails Xavier, there's no question that he is a good man, but his goodness doesn't stop him from taking actions that leave you unsettled. And that cliffhanger... looks like we're seeing the beginning of the end for resurrections.

Invincible Iron Man #2 - It's fine. I have no clue what is going on with Riri since I have never read anything with her in it, but she comes across as Tony's equal in arrogance alongside intellect.

Strange #10 - I was not familiar at all with Clea before this mini but now consider me a Clea fan. Great ending and i can't wait to see where McKay takes these two next. I've seen articles hyping up the new Strange series coming as being about Stephen as a wife guy, but brethren, it's Clea who is the husband gal. Look at that adorable psycho itching to slaughter an entire building this issue, but shows mercy because she loves her husband that much! Awwwww!

Landcaster Legacy Gen 7 Update #69

Dear Diary, Lacy and I are back in Copperdale for Grandpa Matthew's funeral. I know he was old, but his death still doesn't feel real. I keep thinking he's about to waltz through the front door and start passing out candies like he always did. I hope he's happy in the forever save at least. -Violet

"Ethan, I really don't think I can do this today" Mads admitted. "I mean why did Ike ask me to give the eulogy?" "You were the gen 6 heir," Ethan reminded her Mads rested her head on his shoulder and let out a sob "This is all just so hard without my Dad" "I know, but we'll get through it, together"

"I know it's going to be hard, but I couldn't think of anyone else to give Matthew's eulogy," Ethan pulled Mads in for a hug. "We'll all be there for you, okay?" "Okay." "Now, we have to get the twins ready. You get Sophie, I'll get Alex?" "Sure."

"Mama, why sad?" Sophie inquired. "I just miss Grandpa Matthew is all," Mads told her. "Cause I no like when you sad. I like happy mama," an idea popped into Sophie's head. "I give you hug so you no be sad." "Aw, thank you sweetheart." "Happy now?" "Definitely."

Meanwhile, Ethan sat down with Alex. "Okay, bud, here's the deal. This is going to be a hard day for Mom, so I'm going to ask you to be on your best behavior. No making messes today, okay?" "I like messes." "I know, but it'll help Mom out if you don't make any, okay?" "Otay, fine," Alex grumbled.

"Lacy, what's the forever save like?" Violet asked. "You can party all day and never grow old or get hungry. Never have to worry about dying, ever again." "Really?" "I mean I think, I never actually made it that far. I got stuck as a ghost before a certain someone decided to resurrect me."

"You're no help with the comfort thing," Violet sighed. "I'm sorry, I've never had to deal with a big familial death like this before" "You parents?" "We weren't ever close, so it wasn't a big deal when they passed. If it makes you feel better, I'm sure Matthew is with his wife, Emily" "Elena." "OK"

Later, Ethan found Violet sitting alone in the living room. "How's everything going?" he asked. "Dad, really?" "Fine, let's talk about something else. Have you made it big in Del Sol Valley yet?" "No, I mean I've been performing at an open mic night every week for the last few months but that's it."

After everyone took their seats in the funeral hall, Mads began her eulogy. "I want to begin by thanking everyone for coming to help celebrate my father's life. He truly was such an amazing sim," Mads' voice cracked as she wiped tears from her face. "He was an excellent father and grandfather."

"I've learned so much from him over the years, and I wish I'd told him more often how big of the impact he made in my life. I can at least say I'll be at peace knowing that after all these years, he can finally be reunited with my mother who he's been waiting for a very long time to see once more."

"Mom, you did a nice job with that eulogy." "Thank you, sweetheart." "I just feel bad now." "What for?" "I wish I'd gotten to spend more time with Grandpa Matthew before he passed," Violet admitted. "I wish I'd been able to tell him how much I loved him." "Trust me, sweetheart, he knows."

Meanwhile, in the forever save, Elena and Jay found themselves on the beach needing a small reprieve from Madeline and Garrett's incessant bickering inside the house.

Ever since Jay had crossed over, he and Elena had become fast friends since they were the only two without their partners.

"I just don't understand why Isla never crossed over with me," Jay was saying. "We died at the same time." "Maybe she had some unfinished business. I've heard that's sometimes why sims get stuck in the main save," Elena explained "Then she needs to hurry up and finish that business so I can see her"

"I'm sure Isla will arrive soon," Elena encouraged Jay. As much as she missed Matthew, she knew that the longer it took for his arrival, the more life he'd gotten to live. Elena was taken from their family too soon, and she never wanted the same fate for Matthew. She'd wait however long it took.

"I've always wondered why Madeline and Garrett continue to put up with one another if they hate each other so much," Elena wondered out loud "Misery loves company, or so I've heard." "This is an awfully long time to me miserable though." Footsteps crunched in the sand behind where Jay and Elena sat.

Elena and Jay suddenly turned around to find both Isla and Matthew approaching. With a shout of happiness, they both leapt to their feet and rushed in for a long-awaited embrace.
